We are so excited to learn that Tropic Air will inaugurate nonstop services between Belize City International Airport (BZE) and Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico (CTM) on January 16, 2017.
This flight serves as the first non-stop scheduled flight between the two neighboring countries which of course made everyone in Belize very excited about this new flight route, including all of us at Belizean Dreams Resort; why?
Well, this flight is simply awesome and exciting for us because...
IT IS ANOTHER CONNECTION FOR BELIZE WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD
This route connects the rest of the world with us, especially Asia, via Mexico City's hub. The Mexico International Airport connects 50 international destinations in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia and offers daily international flights to and from the United States. On a typical day, passengers pass through the airport from more than 100 destinations on three continents which in turn provides more guests from around the world with yet another alternate route to get to Belize. We eagerly await new travelers to share the ultimate Belizean Dreams All Inclusive vacation with them.
TRAVELING FROM MEXICO TO BELIZE WILL BE EVEN EASIER
Typically, vacationers could catch an Ado bus from Chetumal to Belize’s border in Corozal, however this would be very time consuming and detract from their much need vacation time. Through a quick and easy flight to Belize City International Airport (BZE) from Chetumal on Tropic Air, travelers can get to Belize faster, avoiding the congestion related issues of the land border crossing.
Also, Chetumal is a much easier, far less congested, and faster transit point than Cancun and Merida. No need to change terminals or wait in long customs lines. In fact, the anticipated connection time is less than 30 minutes since Tropic has the only international flight into Chetumal. Therefore, apart from offering our guests yet another way to get to our little jewel, it also provides a less time consuming route to travelers from all over.
IT WILL BE A MORE ECONOMIC MEANS OF TRAVEL TO BELIZE
By connecting into this network, it will of course open Belize to Mexican tourists but also for those in the USA and Europe, it may be a more economic route than flying directly to Belize which could provide you with that extra cash flow for your Belize adventure tours. Yay!
IT AVOIDS VISA RESTRICTIONS
Apart from saving you those bucks, you can travel to Belize without having to go through all the hassle of getting a visa for your en-route flight to get here. For example it will be possible to do Belize – Chetumal – Mexico City – Shanghai / Tokyo / Beijing / Chengdu / Seoul straight through, avoiding US visa restrictions. I bet we can all agree that alone calls for a celebration.
The flights are initially scheduled for three times weekly. However, in April there is a planned flight frequency increase of up to five weekly flights to allow for fast, convenient connections to/from InterJet flights to Mexico City. Interjet flies to 37 cities in Mexico and these flights were timed perfectly to connect to / from one of Interjet’s daily flights from Mexico City to Chetumal.
